The SEED Weber/Davis/Morgan project successfully began with a Kick Off meeting attended by over sixty business, civic and community leaders from each of the three counties.

All attendees participated in a lively two-hour discussion addressing many critical issues affecting entrepreneurial development in the region. The results of this input have been summarized and will be utilized by the full Strategy Committee in the work going forward.

The focus of this work session of the full Strategy Committee was Capability Assessment and Entrepreneurial Goals. Presentations were made by the three counties describing their unique strengths and capacities. An assessment of “How We are Doing” in entrepreneurial development was also presented. Through a combined exercise, the Committee identified potential strategic goals.

During this worksession, the members of the Strategy Committee reviewed the first draft of the Values/Vision Statement. The majority of the work session was dedicated to determining “What Will be Done”.. in each of the four major categories of Entrepreneurial Talent, Business Idea Generation, Support and Funding. These “goals” will be furthered analyzed and refined prior to work session #3.

Committee members organized themselves into small working teams focused on each of the potential “goal” areas. A homework assignment was given that is to be completed prior to the next work session.
